Formation for Adults

“Every disciple of the Lord Jesus shares in this mission [of the Church].  To do their part, adult Catholics must be mature in faith and well equipped to share the Gospel, promoting it in every family circle, in every church gathering, in every place of work, and in every public forum.  They must be women and men of prayer whose faith is alive and vital, grounded in a deep commitment to the person and message of Jesus” (USCCB, Our Hearts Were Burning Within Us: A Pastoral Plan for Adult Faith Formation, #2).

In order to form our parishioners as missionary disciples, we offer:

• Light of the World Parish Retreat
  Twice each year, our parishioners are invited to engage in this life-changing retreat.  It is developed by parishioners, for parishioners.
• Small Church Discipleship Communities
  After the Light of the World Retreat, parishioners have the opportunity to continue gathering with others who are on the journey of faith.
• Wonder Women
  A monthly gathering of women for fellowship, prayer, & discipleship formation
• St. Sebastian Men’s Fellowship Breakfast
  A weekly gathering of men for fellowship, prayer, & study
• Adult Sunday School series throughout the duration of the school year
• Bible studies throughout the year, facilitated by clergy & laity
• The Called & Gifted Workshop for the discernment of spiritual gifts (charisms)
• Special events, such as Chris Stefanick’s Reboot! LIVE! (hosted in September 2017)

We also have access for our parish to the BEST CATHOLIC FAITH FORMATION available online.  We have a parish subscription to FORMED.org that allows adults, teens, & children to learn more about living their Catholic faith, from ANYWHERE.  If you haven’t registered, do it today!  You’ll need our parish code (M6J2VY) the first time you register.
