Community Life

A Catholic parish is “the place where the very ‘mystery’ of the Church is present and at work.”  Each parish is established in order to “carry out the word and grace of the Gospel and to correspond to the various circumstances of life in which people find themselves today” (Pope John Paul II’s Letter, Christ’s Lay Faithful, #26).

DSC_1503Our parish intends to meet parishioners and members of the community in whatever condition they come to us.  We desire to help them to experience the truth, love, joy, and peace that a relationship with Jesus Christ offers.  We strive to walk with everyone toward the abundant life that Jesus desires for them to have (see John 10:10).

We meet these objectives by:

  • Developing a ministry of hospitality to greet everyone who comes through our doors, regardless of their circumstances.
  • Hosting meals for new parishioners.
  • Providing fun, memorable community-building events for individuals and families throughout the year.
  • Small discipleship communities for men, women, and families.
  • A thriving ministry for our Spanish-speaking brothers and sisters.
  • Hosting civic organization (such as the Boy Scouts) activities on our campus.
  • Ministering to parishioners and community members who grieve.
  • Engaging in outreach to members of our community who’s needs aren’t met in other ways.
  • And more!

If you have suggestions or ideas about how we can improve our community life and fulfill our goals and objectives, please don’t hesitate to contact us.  Call the Parish Office at 731.668.2596 or email at parishinfo@stmarys.tn.org
