Room in the Inn
St. Mary’s, in partnership with Area Relief Ministries and 31 participating Churches in Madison County, will begin its 8th year to serve Room In The Inn.
St. Mary’s is provided a Room at 1st United Methodist Church, serves Dinner, Breakfast and To-Go Bags. We have two teams that rotate serving once a month, 6 times a year, serving typically on the first Thursday of the month from November to April.
Room In The Inn was started by the late Fr. Charles Stroble from the Diocese of Nashville, TN, and has provided shelter and food for hundreds of homeless men across the United States and creates life changing relationships through fellowship with the guests. St. Mary’s RITI will serve November 4th, 2026, December 3rd, 2026 and January 14th, 2027, February 4th, 2027, March 11th, and April 1st.

• Proof of income: paycheck stub, Social Security/SSI, unemployment income

Eligibility: This program serves households with children age 14 or younger who live in Jackson/Madison County.

Haiti Academic Angels Update
Since the late 1990s, our parish has partnered with the Parish Twinning Program of the Americas to support a sister parish in Moron, Haiti. Our parish provides spiritual and financial support. Since we began working with this twinning program, we have provided assistance for a parish rectory, and for the parish school that enrolls over 450 students! We recognize that our Lord calls us to help those who are unable to help themselves in the same ways that we are.
In 2006, we assisted with opening an orphanage that cares for young girls, the Christian Girls Home of Moron, Haiti. Our parishioners have established a 501c(3) corporation to assist the orphanage with cash needs and equipment.
Partnered with the Parish Twinning Program of the Americas, St. Mary’s provides spiritual & financial support for our sister parish in Moron, Haiti, including the school & the orphanage. Lundi dernier nous possédions à l’ouverture de l’école , malgré le projet de construction des salles de classe est aux arrêts pour le moment. Je vous envoie des photos des élèves dans la cérémonie du drapeau. Je vous remercie pour votre aide si précieuse et je sais combien de sacrifices que vous avez faites pour trouver de l’argent. Je prie chaque jour pour que vous puissiez en santé pour continuer votre mission tant dans votre famille et ailleurs.
J’aimerais continuer les travaux des salles de classes. Si vous avez la possibilité .

Last Monday, we had the school open, although the classroom construction project is currently on hold. I am sending you photos of the students at the flag-raising ceremony. Thank you for your invaluable help, and I know how many sacrifices you have made to raise the funds. I pray every day that you remain healthy so you can continue your mission both in your family and elsewhere.
