Young Adult Ministry

Vision:

God or Nothing: St. Mary’s Young Adult Ministry exists to accompany young adults, ages 18–29, as they seek to live as faithful disciples of Jesus Christ in the modern world. Rooted in Scripture, sustained by the Sacraments, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, this ministry helps young adults encounter Christ personally, grow in spiritual maturity, and discern their unique vocation within the Church. Embracing the call to “be in the world, but not of the world” (Gaudium et Spes, 40), we strive to form intentional disciples who live with joy, zeal, and fidelity.

Through intentional formation and a shared pursuit of the Good, the True, and the Beautiful, this ministry invites young adults to seek to know and love Christ more deeply. As St. Augustine said, “You cannot love what you do not know.”. This ministry seeks to walk alongside each person in a relationship of authentic accompaniment — guiding, listening, and helping them to integrate faith into every part of life. In a world that offers comfort without purpose and pleasure without fulfillment, we choose the only path that leads to life: genuinely seeking God or Nothing

Mission:

To form college students and young professionals into bold, faithful disciples of Jesus Christ through a life rooted in:

Sacramental Life – anchored in the Eucharist and the grace of the Sacraments.

Formation – deepening understanding of the Catholic faith through intentional catechesis, mentorship, and ongoing spiritual growth.

Accompaniment – walking personally with each young adult through guidance, prayer, and authentic relationships that foster maturity in Christ.

Witness – live “…in the world, but not of it…” (Gaudium et Spes, 40), proclaiming Christ by the way we live, serve, and speak in everyday life.

Prayer – cultivate a deep relationship with God through personal prayer, guided reflection, and adoration.

Witness – being “in the world, but not of it” (Gaudium et Spes, 40) and carrying out Christ’s mission by bringing His hope, truth, and love into our homes, workplaces, and communities.

Mission and Belonging – helping young adults discover and engage with the wider life of the Church by connecting them to parish ministries, community opportunities, and resources that support their ongoing spiritual growth and vocation.
